Our mission & vision

Our mission, vision and values are all reflected in the way we are Church today

Our mission is to promote the New Testament church life in Aalborg, where faith in Jesus as the saviour and fellowship between people are at the centre.

Our vision is to be an international church that  shares, cares and grows  to  serve its local community.

Our primary values are to love, to have a generous mindset  and  to keep on learning and growing.

What we believe

Frikirken International Church believes that the Bible is the Word of God – and this is the foundation on which we are teaching and building our work. Secondly, we believe in God’s radical and unconditional love for all humanity. Thirdly, we believe that God still does miracles today, and does so through his presence, which can be be experienced, and brings healing, deliverance and restoration. As a church, we agree with the official Apostolic creed that is widely used by Christian denominations.

The Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From where He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Why we started

Frikirken International Church first started in a part of Tornhøjscentret, Aalborg East. As a church, we want to be an open church where everyone is welcomed no matter their culture and spiritual standpoint.  It is our ultimate goal to reach out to our city and culture. It all began with a mission to promote New Testament church life in Aalborg East, where faith in Jesus as the saviour and fellowship between people are at the Centre.

New Testament church in our context means to have a church where Danes and Non-Danes can gather together, a place where non-believer can also come as they are and experience the love and power of God in a pure and natural atmosphere. Frikirken International Church started in the year 2005 in Aalborg East, by a few group of people who desired to simplify the church again and return
to the original idea of the Church according to the book of Acts.

The Church of Acts as we understood it, was an open church for all and consisted of people of different cultures and backgrounds. It was an atmosphere where people’s faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour drew them closer to each other. They also took the commandment of Jesus to reach to others seriously. Moreover, the people who came to believe in Jesus through them, were also empowered to share their faith, to care for people around them and to continue to grow and to live out their God-given potential.

Frikirken International Church consists of the people who attend the church and not the building where they are meeting.

You are welcome to experience our meeting every Sunday from 15:00.
